AARP, South Dakota Public Broadcasting and the South Dakota Newspaper Association will join to host a series of candidate forums to air on SDPB Television and SDPB Radio.

The forum schedule is:

•October 12 at 8:00 p.m. CT - Attorney General

•October 17 at 8:00 p.m. CT - U.S. House

•October 19 at 8:00 p.m. CT - Governor

All candidates for these offices have been invited to participate.

The one-hour forums will be held live in the SDPB Television studios. SDPB Radio will re-broadcast the program audio on:

•October 30 at noon CT - Public Utility Commissioners

•October 31 at noon CT - Attorney General

•November 1 at noon CT - U.S. House

•November 2 at noon CT - Governor

"We want our members, and the general public to be informed voters when they head to the polls on Election Day," says AARP State Director Sarah Jennings. "These forums will address issues important to older South Dakotans, and make it clear where candidates stand on those issues."

SDPB Radio will also host candidates individually on South Dakota Forum throughout the month of October. In addition, SDPB-TV will broadcast programs featuring candidates running in state legislative races Fridays at 9:30 p.m. Central Time through November 3.
