Cabin Fever Florals absorbs Flowers of Fortune
"I've had my flower shop in the country for six years," said Kerry Hostutler, the owner of Cabin Fever Florals. Her shop is now located in downtown Philip in what used to be known as Flowers of Fortune.
According to Hostutler, the previous owner, Anita Schofield, had said that she was wanting to spend more time with her husband and their three, soon to be four, children. The timing and logistics of changing over the flower shop all just came together. "Things seem to work out for a reason," said Hostutler.
The transfer took place April 21st. A grand opening is planned for sometime after the Mother's Day busy time.
"Anita is still going to help me part-time," said Hostutler. "She and I have a very good working relationship."
Many things will stay the same, such as still having delivery service, balloon bouquets and offering Teleflora options. A tanning bed is still available in the back room. The hours will still be 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Hostutler will open on weekends for customers when needed.
Some things will be new. "We're going to add western purses and belts, jewelry and some clothing items," said Hostutler. "And we will be now doing candy bouquets."
Cabin Fever Florals wants to appeal to everyone to simply stop in. "When you have some time in Philip, what do you do," asked Hostutler. The shop will offer a little coffee nook for those people in town and from out of town to stop in and enjoy the atmosphere.
The shop's phone numbers are 605-859-2064 and toll free 877-887-2064.
