Blanche Laurene Rosenfeldt's life began on August 24, 1921, in Moorhead, MN, a blessing to her parents Adolph and Amanda (Mattson) Rosenfeldt of Sabin, MN.
Blanche was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church and confirmed in 1934. She attended rural school District #9 and Trinity Lutheran Day School, all in Sabin, MN. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Morris, MN. Her father's early death required Blanche to leave home and start working at various jobs to help support the family. These early life-changing experiences influenced her to become the strong and independent woman that Blanche was known to be.
As a private and reserved woman, Blanche served as a quiet Christian example as reflected in her love of everyday life. Blanche and her husband Lee, were united in marriage on November 15, 1958, at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Graceville, MN. They spent their entire lives together in their farming operation near Beardsley, MN. Lee passed away in 1992. In recent years Blanche also enjoyed her home in Morris, MN. She especially enjoyed gardening, bird watching, animals of all types, and many family pets. She very thoughtfully captured the beauty around her through her interest in photography.
Blanche was known for her excellent cooking and baking skills as she enjoyed preparing meals and treats for family, friends, and neighbors. Visitors were known to arrive unannounced around lunch or meal times.
Blanche's inspirational Christian faith as witnessed throughout her life continues to bring peace and comfort to her surviving daughters, Pam Guichard of Inver Grove Heights, MN, and Sheila Olson and son-in-law, Kent Olson, of Philip, SD.
Surviving nieces and nephews include her God-daughter, Patricia (Curtis) Jones of Truman, MN, Bill Rosenfeldt of Bloomville, OH, Jon (Diane) Rosenfeldt of Glyndon, MN, Penni (Daryl) Osmundson of Ames, IA, Dan (Julie) Rosenfeldt of Moorhead, MN, Tom (Lu) Rosenfeldt of Mason City, IA, Diana (Larry) Seifert of Dumont, MN, Debby (Steve) Stotesbery of Graceville, MN, Terry (Jean) Hoppe of Graceville, MN, Greg (Kathy) Hoppe of Graceville, MN, and Sheri (Vic) Braun of Rosholt, SD.
Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, H. Lee Young; her parents, Amanda (Mattson) and Adolph Rosenfeldt; mother- and father-in-law, Vera and Henry Young; brother, Harry Rosenfeldt; sister, Marian Hoppe; and a nephew, Kim Rosenfeldt.
Arrangements are with the Rush Funeral Home of Philip.
