Bergeson new chair of S.D. Coalition for Children youth advisory council
Bailey Bergeson of Philip has been elected chair of South Dakota Voices for Children’s Youth Advisory Council. Members of the group assist in identifying issues that affect the lives of South Dakota children and youth, testify before legislators and participate in press conferences.
Bergeson, who will be a high school senior this fall, was elected to the council in 2004.
Current Voices’ advocacy issues include increasing seat-belt and booster seat use, preventing the use of alcohol, drugs and tobacco among young people, and improving child care.
