Already time for school to start?
Registration for this year's academic classes at Philip High School for grades 7-12 will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 15-16, at the high school principal's office.
The three Fall sports will hold their first practices on Monday, August 14.
All athletes must have their physical forms on file in the high school office before their first practice. Forms are available at the high school office or online at www.philip.k12.sd.us.
A football parent/player meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, in the high school gym. Football practice will start the next day at 8:00 a.m. on the Dust Bowl north of the high school. The annual soap-and-shampoo scrimmage will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 25. The spectator entrance "fee" will be a bar of soap or a bottle of shampoo for the football players to use throughout the season. Keven Morehart is the head football coach, and Michael Baer is the assistant coach.
Girls' volleyball practice will start at 9:00 a.m. in the high school gym August 14. Rae Ann Snyder is the head coach, and Tanya Peterson is the assistant coach. Anyone interested in joining volleyball should contact Coach Snyder.
The cross country team meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 7, in the commons area of the high school. Parents are welcome. The first official practice will be at 4:30 p.m. on August 14. Ralph Kroetch is the cross country coach.
The first day of classes for the 2006-07 school year is Wednesday, August 23, starting at 7:50 a.m.
