Kenneth "Ken" Heeb, 67, of Custer, South Dakota, formerly of Philip, SD , died March 12, 2012, at the Custer Regional Hospital in Custer.

Kenneth H. Heeb was born April 7, 1944, in Pierre, South Dakota, the son of David K. and Mary (Moss) Heeb. At the age of six weeks, his mother passed away, so Ken lived with various aunts and uncles until the age of seven, when his father married Helen. Ken attended Ottumwa rural school and Philip High School. While in high school, Ken was class president, Homecoming King, and very active in FFA, boxing and football.

Rodger E. Chant, age 67, Cottonwood, S.D., died Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at his home.
Rodger E. Chant was born in Champaign, Ill., on December 10, 1944, the son of Rodger and Ruth (Sanders) Chant. Rodger was raised in South Dakota his whole life and attended White River schools in Mellette County. After high school, he attended Black Hills State University in Spearfish, as well as school in Flagstaff, Ariz.
Rodger enjoyed outdoor sports, such as gold mining, geocaching, boating, hunting and fishing.
Roger was united in marriage to Judy on February 12, 1998, in Rapid City.

Dorothy Lillian (Ritter) Pearson, age 90, of Spearfish, S.D., passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 4, 2012.
Dorothy was born on March 30, 1921, near Dupree to the farm family of Edward and Margaret (Comstock) Ritter. She grew up on the family farm and attended a nearby country school. While working at the Stroppel Hotel in Midland, in 1945, she met her future husband, Palmer Pearson.

Cameron Wayne Carlson, 19, of Belle Fourche, S.D., went to heaven on March 5, 2012, outside Belle Fourche in a tragic car accident.
He was born December 21, 1992, in Spearfish to Kevin and Dara Carlson.
His life was too short for everyone who loved him, but those who were touched by his love of life and the quality of his existance far exceeds the quantity of his time here. Cameron loved life and was loved by many people.
