William E. Patton

William (Bill) Patton was born June 24, 1936. His parents were Patrick and Mabel Patton. Bill attended a country grade school and then high school in Philip, S.D., with his seven siblings. After serving in the United States Army for two years, he attended Black Hills State Teachers College in Spearfish, South Dakota where, in 1960, he received his bachelor’s degree in business education.


Gene Stone

Gene Stone, age 76 of Kadoka, S.D., died Sunday, February 19, 2012, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Eldon “Gene” Stone was born October 22, 1935, in Wiggins, Colo., the son of Eldon A. and Lois T. (Sharp) Stone. He attended high school in Kadoka, graduating from Kadoka High School in 1953.


Joyce Stout

Joyce Stout, age 88 of Kadoka, S.D., died Monday, February 20, 2012, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Joyce Elaine Parkinson was born June 3, 1923, in Hitchcock, S.D., the daughter of Sidney and Hazel Ellen (Barnes) Parkinson. At the age of five, she moved with her parents to Kadoka, where she grew up and received her education. Joyce graduated from Kadoka High School in 1941.
In 1941, Joyce was united in marriage to Charles W. Vice and to this union one son, William K., was born. Charles was killed in France during WWII in 1944.
