Lydia “Jackie” Gunhammer________________________

Lydia “Jackie” Gunhammer, age 61, of Belle Fourche, died Thursday May 1, 2014, at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City.
Lydia “Jackie” Gunhammer was born January 3, 1953, in Belle Fourche. She was the daughter of John and Lydia (Clairmont) Gunhammer.

Luther Gay Hatle_______________________________

Services for Luther Gay Hatle, known as Gay to his family and friends, age 77, of Meadow, S.D., were held Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Indian Creek Lutheran Church south of Meadow.  Pastor Harold Delbridge officiated with burial in the Chance Cemetery.
Serving as casketbearers were Bob and Mike Moser, John Grate, Jens Hanson, Wade Derflinger, Del May, Les and Dave Lensegrav.  Nick Pagliaro and Levi Butts were Honorary Bearers.


Theodore “Ted” John Degen, Jr._______

Theodore (Ted) John Degen, Jr., 77, of Cottonwood, S.D., passed away on April 26, 2014.
He was born in Alexandria on February 5, 1937, to Theodore John Degen, Sr. and Francis Degen.
His wife, Mattie Degen, was by his side when he passed.
He spent his life working construction jobs and handling heavy equipment. He had a love of hunting and fishing.


Jerry Iron Moccasin_______________________________

Funeral services for Jerry Iron Moccasin, 53, of Kadoka, S.D., formerly of Eagle Butte and Timber Lake, were held Saturday, April 26, at the Old Agency Building, Eagle Butte. Jerry will be cremated and his remains buried with his mother at the Timber Lake Cemetery at a later date.
Jerry entered the spirit world April 18, 2014, near Philip.


KyleRae Bailey Marie Todd__________________________

KyleRae Bailey Marie Todd, age 14, of Interior, S.D., died Thursday, April 24, 2014, as a result of a car accident north of Interior.
KyleRae Bailey Marie Todd was born May 6, 1999, in Rapid City, the daughter of Richard Wesley and Lacey Ann (Logan) Todd. She grew up in Interior with the exception of a few periods of time in New Mexico. She always considered Interior to be her home. Four years ago, she came to live with Tony and Crystal and was adopted by them. She received her elementary education in Interior, and was currently a freshman at Philip High School.

Mary June Penticoff______________________________

Mary June Penticoff, 84, died Saturday, April 19, 2014, at the Maryhouse in Pierre.
Mary June was born on June 17, 1929, in Philip, the daughter of John and Edna (Herrman) O'Reilly. She grew up in Philip and graduated from Philip High School. She worked as a telephone operator, a bookkeeper for Farmers Union Oil Company, a deputy treasurer/officer, a dress shop clerk in California, and worked for West Central Electric Company. In her later years, she spent many years babysitting her grandchildren and many other children. She became “Grandma" to many children over the years.


Summer Rae Raffo______________________________

On April 4, 1977, the world was greeted by Summer Rae Raffo. She lived a very full and productive life until a catastrophic historical event claimed her life as she was driving her vehicle to work through the area of the Oso landslide on March 22, 2014 near Darrington, Wash.


Charles Rush__________________________________

Charles Rush passed away peacefully on April 11, 2014, from complications of Parkinson's disease.
He was born in Colman, South Dakota, in 1929 and grew up in an Irish Catholic family of adults, as he was the youngest by far of six children. He was blessed with a quick wit and good sense of humor. His entire family had uncanny math skills and were renowned card players.


Mitchell Allen Crawford______________________

Mitchell Allen Crawford, 50, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014, after a sudden medical event.
Born October 1, 1963, in Philip, S.D., to Joe and Ardie Crawford, Mitch graduated from Stevens High School in 1981, attended BHSU off and on for several years, and worked at family businesses, including JR's Bar & Grill, Smokin' Joe's -- and, for the last decade, Integrated Commercial Solutions.
Mitch married Carla Trembore (Rapid City), becoming loving stepdad to Hunter, 13, and his life was filled with sustained and unique meaning when son Cooper, 9, arrived.

LaVerna D. Briggs________________________________

LaVerne DaVeen Briggs, 76, of Anacortes, Wa., traveled home to be with Jesus on Monday, March 31, 2014 at her home, with her family by her side.
LaVerna was born in Tablerock, Neb., to David Wright Quinnett and LaZetta Mae Frazier on June 20, 1937. At age two, her parents were divorced and she was raised by her mama.
The family grew as mom LaZetta remarried and four siblings entered the picture: Darlene, Larry, Bob and Sharon. LaVerna was her mother’s right-hand helper in the raising of these two boys and two girls.
