Roy C. Hamann, age 97, of Wall, S.D., died Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at the Hospice of the Hills in Rapid City.


James A. “Jim” Bouman__________________________

James A. “Jim” Bouman, age 52, of Philip, S.D., died Thursday, October 31, 2013, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.


Ellen Totton___________________________________

Ellen Totton, age 85, of Murdo, S.D., died Friday, November 1, 2013, at the Philip Nursing Home.
Ellen Jean Weiss was born September 23, 1928, at the hospital in Mobridge, the fifth of seven children born to Ernest R.O. and Olga (Wiedmann) Weiss. She was baptized December 9, 1928, at the Lutheran Church of Akaska with her aunt and uncle, Tillie and Emil Wiedman, as her sponsors. She lived in the country at Akaska for six years.


Byron "Butch" Mattis______________________

Funeral services for Byron "Butch" Mattis, 57, of Hettinger, North Dakota were Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hettinger Armory in Hettinger, ND. Rev. Brad Abelseth officiated and burial followed at the Hettinger Cemetery. Visitations was Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Centennial Chapel of Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger and one hour prior to the service on Monday morning at the Armory.

Francis Horacek_________________________________

Francis J. Horacek, 90, of Yankton, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, October 20, 2013.
Fran was born in Yankton, SD on October 16, 1923 to Benedict and Dolphie (Pecenka) Horacek where he lived and grew up with his four siblings: Ben, Alma, Alice, and Dolores. Fran stayed in Yankton after graduating high school when he attended Yankton College for two years before entering in WWII in 1943. After serving 3 years in the war, Fran attended South Dakota State University where he played baseball and ran track for the Jackrabbits. At SDSU he met the love of his life, Dolores Almond.


Eva Louder__________________________

Eva C. Louder, 99, of Rapid City, and formerly of Draper died Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Wood of Rapid City and Yvonne Laur of Sioux Falls; five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the Murdo United Methodist Church on Friday, November 1 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service.


Herbert J. “Herb” Kolb

Funeral services for Herbert J. “Herb” Kolb, age 88, of Bison, South Dakota, were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013 at the American Lutheran Church in Bison, South Dakota Rev. Dana Lockhart officiated. Burial was at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, South Dakota. Military Honors were afforded by the Rogers-Smith American Legion Post #255 of Bison and the Sturgis Veterans Honor Guard.


Clara Belle Weller_______________________________

Clara Belle Weller, age 79, of Kadoka, S.D., died Friday morning, October 25, 2013, at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip.
Clara Belle Wilson was born January 21, 1934, in Pierre, the daughter of William Key and Sarah Patience (Sutton) Wilson. She grew up in Kadoka where she graduated from Kadoka High School in 1952. She then attended South Dakota State College in Brookings where she received her home economics degree.


Dorothy Stahl__________________________________

Dorothy M. Stahl, age 90, of Philip, S.D., died Sunday, October 27, 2013, at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip.
Dorothy M. Konst was born June 7, 1923, in Philip, the daughter of Clem and Alice (Griswold) Konst. Her early childhood years were spent in the Powell area. At the age of six, she moved with her parents and family to the Nowlin community where she grew up.

Charlie Clark

The funeral service for Charlie Clark, age 76, lifelong Keldron rancher, was held Friday, October 18, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lemmon with Pastor John Irwin from the Reformed Presbyterian Church, officiating.  Per Charlie’s wishes, his ashes will be scattered on his beloved ranch along the Grand River.
   Special music was provided by Carolyn Petik, pianist, Wes Hotchkiss, and Paul Schultes.
