Harriet Noteboom

Harriet Noteboom, age 96, of Okaton, S.D., died Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Kadoka Nursing Home.
Harriet Roghair was born November 10, 1916, in Alton, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Cornelia Roghair. Growing up, Harriet helped her mother with the younger children and the house work. The family moved to Okaton in 1925. After graduating from high school, Harriet took nurses training in Chamberlain. She spent several years working in hospitals, doctor’s offices, and home health care.

Marion F. Olesen

Marion F. Olesen, 70, Philip, S.D., died Friday, April 26, 2013, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Survivors include two sons, Richard (Margi) Olesen, Lead, and Jerry (Susan) Olesen, Kingston, N.C.; five daughters, Brenda (Terry) Cooper, Box Elder, Lisa Olesen, Platsburg, N.Y., Vickie Romer, Alamosa, Colo., Liza Duran, Alamosa, and Alta (Matt) Polich, Spearfish; five grandchildren; a brother, Eugene (Gena Loose) Welborn, Huntley, Mont.; and two sisters, Bernice (Tom) Hash, Billings, Mont., and Nordine (Bill) Rogers, Montana.

Berthold "Bert" Fried

Berthold A. "Bert" Fried, 90, Sturgis, died Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be noon until 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church in Whitewood with Pastor Steve Agan officiating. Burial with military honors follows at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
A memorial has been established to the Meade County Senior Center.

Linda Kramer

Linda Kramer, age 67, of Philip, S.D., formerly Burlington, Iowa, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital in Tucson, Ariz.

June Wanczyk

June Wanczyk, age 85 of Wall, S.D., died Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip.
June Ailene Weller was born June 6, 1927, at Arriba, Colo., the daughter of Leonard “Bill” and Stella (Anderson) Weller. She grew up and received her education in Arriba, graduating from Arriba High School in May 1945. She attended Bonnie Beauty School in Denver, graduating in November 1946.

Marilyn Bergheim

Marilyn Bergheim, age 75, died at the Madison Community Hospital on April 18, 2013.
She was born on January 25, 1938, at Centerville to David and Jennie (Knutson) Johnson.
She married Maurice Peterson on December 24, 1955, at Del Rio, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1984.
She married Warren Bergheim at Madison on February 16, 1985.

Anna Lee Humphrey

Anna Lee Humphrey, 84, of Wasta, S.D., went home to be with the Lord on March 29, 2013. As a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother she will be missed deeply by the family she cared so much about. She is remembered for being the loving wife, mother, role model, and friend to many.

Nicholas Herman Koenigs

Nicholas Herman Koenigs, 68, or Cheyenne, Wyo., died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at the Davis Hospice Center.
He was born on July 11, 1944, in Fond du Lac, Wis., and had lived in Cheyenne for the last fifteen months with previous residency in Douglas, Wyo.
Nick attended St. Mary’s Grade School in Marytown and New Holstein High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Bernadine Wenzel

Bernadine Wenzel, age 70, of Wessington Springs, S.D., died early Tuesday morning, April 2, 2013, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 5th at the United Methodist Church with Pastor Martin Avery officiating. Burial followed in the Prospect Hill Cemetery.
She was born on September 27, 1942, at Spencer to Bernard and Irene (Franey) Clark. She graduated from Spencer High School in 1960 and preceded her education to Cosmetology to Stewarts in Sioux Falls.

John Wayne Bockman

John Wayne Bockman, 53, Leavenworth, KS passed away Monday, April 1, 2013, at Cushing Memorial Hospital. John was born December 9, 1959, the son of Harold W. and Carol (Bieber) Bockman. On April 30, 1983, he married Marla J. Werner. John served in the United States Army for six years. Following his military service he went to work for the United States Federal Penitentiary in Leavenworth for 22 years. He was a member of Rock of Ages Lutheran Church (WELS), Kansas City, MO. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
