Randy Reckling___________________________________

Randy Reckling, age 66, of Philip, S.D., died Monday, May 26, 2014, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Randy was born September 26, 1947, in Philip, S.D., the son of Alvin and Rosemary (Holecek) Reckling. He grew up in Philip and graduated from Philip High School in 1965.
As a young man, he served in the U.S. Army. After his discharge he made his home in the state of Washington.
Randy was united in marriage to Linda Johnson and to this union was born three children, Brian, Darin and Kimberly. The family made their home in Washington until 1981, when Randy moved back to Philip.


Harry “Butch” Livermont__________________________

Harry “Butch” Livermont, age 70, of Interior, S.D., died , May 21, 2014, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Harry L. “Butch” Livermont was born September 2, 1943, at Kadoka, the son of Louis and Jean (Kemnitz) Livermont. Butch’s life revolved around his ranch. He bought it in 1967 and was there until the end of his life.


Lucile Peterson___________________________________

Lucile Peterson, age 93, of Philip, died Sunday, May 25, 2014, at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip.
Helen Lucile Peterson was born February 1, 1921, on her parents’ homestead near Grindstone, the daughter of John “Jack” and Helen (Poste) Dean. Lucile grew up in the Grindstone area and received her education at the Dean Elementary School located approximately one mile southeast of the Dean homestead. After her education, Lucile worked various jobs in the Grindstone area.

Zack Richard Word, 82, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at the South Dakota State Veterans Home in Hot Springs.

Marjorie M. Letellier______________________________

Marjorie M. Letellier, age 90, of Norris, S.D., died May 14, 2014, at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip.
Marjorie Marie Martin was born on June 30, 1923, to Leslie H. and Bertha (Kaufman) Martin at their home above the Putnam Store in Norris. Her sister, Phyllis was born on April 12, 1926. They became real pals and remained close their entire lives.


Casey Nuzum____________________________________

Casey Nuzum, 25, of Buffalo, Wyo., formerly from Hulett and Sundance, died in a work related accident in Converse County, Wyo., on May 15, 2014.
Casey, came into this world on October 4, 1988 in Spearfish, S.D., and was raised by Justin Nuzum, Cindy Nuzum and big brother Colt Nuzum. He grew up on a ranch north of Hulett and attended Hulett High School where he graduated in 2007. After high school he went to work for various companies and at the time of death, was working for Tvedt Trucking.


Charles A. Willert, Sr.____________________________

Charles A. Willert, Sr., age 76 of Kadoka, S.D., died March 10, 2014, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Charles Allen Willert, Sr. was born to Emil and Etta (Griswold) Willert on September 22, 1937, at home in Kadoka. He was baptized at the Belvidere Presbyterian Church. Charles attended Willert Country School before graduating from Belvidere High School in 1955. He qualified to ride in the Texas State High School Rodeo in bareback riding as a junior in high school.
Charles married Jeanette Shockley in 1955 and in their marriage they had three children.

David A. Hauk___________________________________

David Allen Hauk, age 62, of Miles City, Mont., formerly of Philip, S.D., passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 at his home near Miles City surrounded by his family.
David was born on June 20, 1951, in Wall to George and Margaret “Peggy” (Clark) Hauk. He attended Lincoln Grade School just north of the farm until starting high school in Philip. Dave graduated from Philip High School in 1969.


Jerald W. “Jerry” Harder___________

Jerald W. “Jerry” Harder, age 87, died at Rapid City Regional Hospital on Thursday, April 24, 2014.
Jerry was born on October 30, 1926, to Elmer and Sophia (Laur) Harder in Burke, S.D. He was raised in Gregory, where he graduated from high school in 1944.
He entered the United States Navy in 1944 and served for two years. Following his discharge he attended South Dakota State University in Brookings. He received a bachelor of science degree in history and science in 1951. He taught history and coached at Philip from 1952-54.


Lydia “Jackie” Gunhammer________________________

Lydia “Jackie” Gunhammer, age 61, of Belle Fourche, died Thursday May 1, 2014, at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City.
Lydia “Jackie” Gunhammer was born January 3, 1953, in Belle Fourche. She was the daughter of John and Lydia (Clairmont) Gunhammer.
