Ramon L. "Ray" Jondro, age 79 of Rapid City, SD, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at the Hospice of the Hills in Rapid City.

Ramon Lester "Ray" Jondro was born October 20, 1930, to Archie and Pearl (Amundson) Jondro in Duluth, MN. Ray's youth and early adult life were spent in Duluth. He graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1948, then attended two years of junior college. He worked with his father in the family business at Jondro Motors off and on for several years.

He entered the Navy Reserves in 1947, then joined the Army in 1951 serving in the Korean War.

Betty Lou Fleming, age 75 of Custer, SD, died Sunday, January 24, 2010, at Custer Regional Senior Care.

Betty Lou Fleming was born November 3, 1934, in Philip, SD, the daughter of Oliver S. and Myrtle (Neville) Fleming. As a child, she grew up in the Philip area. Because of health reasons at the age of 11, she was hospitalized at the Redfield State Hospital and School in Redfield, SD.

Betty Lou was baptized on April 15, 1984, at Redfield.

Services were held Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at the Union Center Community Center in Union Center, SD.

Burial was in the Elm Springs Cemetery in Elm Springs, SD.

Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Springfield, SD, was in charge of arrangements.

Vera Elaine Walker-Young was born March 5, 1915, at Delzell, SD, the daughter of David and Lucinda (Miner) Hopkins. She died January 20, 2010, at St. Michael's Hospital in Tyndall, SD. Vera attained the age of 94 years, 10 months and 15 days.

Vera graduated from high school in Rapid City.

Reuben B. Vollmer, age 82 of Midland, SD, died Monday, January 18, 2010, at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip.

Reuben Vollmer was born in 1927 on the family homestead in rural Mellette County near White River, SD. He graduated from the eighth grade from a county school located on the White River.

He married Iris Krogman on September 5, 1948, at Murdo. He lived in Mellette County, Murdo, rural White Lake, Midland, Philip and Philip Nursing Home.

Natalie Foster, age 84 of Wall, SD, died January 21, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Center in New Underwood.

Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, at the Rush Funeral Chapel in Wall, and one hour preceding the services at the church on Friday.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 29, at the First Lutheran Church in Wall, with Pastor Curtis Garland officiating.

JoAnne (Burns) Boyle was born in Philip, SD, on April 26, 1930, to Harry Burns and Bessie (Harvey) Burns. JoAnne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and treasured friend.
