“All we wanted to do was finish!” ... “And we did finish! ... in a time of five hours, 30 minutes, and some-odd seconds for a 26.2 mile marathon.” Cattle Business Weekly employees participated in the Run Crazy Horse Marathon October 3. "We wanted to do it as a kind of fun office event, and to support beef," said Codi Mills concerning the Run Crazy Horse half marathon, marathon, and five person marathon relay held October 3 in the Black Hills.
The workers at the Cattle Business Weekly, a weekly nine-state Philip-based newspaper devoted to the cattle industry, entered the running event. The route took runners from the Crazy Horse Memorial through downtown Hill City and a loop on the Mickelson Trail. For those people really in shape and really into competition, it was a certified race and a Boston Marathon qualifier.
