Avis Gillaspie, age 85 of Midland, SD, died September 18, 2008, at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, September 23, at St. William Catholic Church in Midland, with Father Ron Garry as celebrant.

Music was provided by Barb Petokse, pianist, and Barb Jones, cantor.

Lector was Eleanor Zuccaro. Altar server was Brody Jones. Ushers were Jerry Nemec and Mark Nemec.

Pallbearers were Avis' grandsons, Jay Gillaspie, Cody Gillaspie, Michael Schofield, Daniel Gillaspie, John D.

LaVina Maxon, age 75 of Buffalo, SD, died September 19, 2008, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, September 22, St. Therese Catholic Church in Rapid City with Father Gary Oreshoski as celebrant, with Father Bill Zandri and Father John Heying as con-celebrants.
