David H. Cook, 86, died at a Rapid City nursing home on Sunday, July 27, 2008.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 5311 Sheridan Lake Rd., with Pastor Dwight Stensgaard officiating.

Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

David was born in Mitchell on August 26, 1921, to Charles and Bertha (Horsley) Cook. He grew up in Draper and graduated from high school in Philip. After school he worked on the family farm.

On October 15, 1943, he was united in marriage to Ruby Valsvig in Rapid City.

Frances L. Murphy, age 92 of Las Vegas, NV, died July 24, 2008, at the Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 23, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Philip, with Father Ron Garry as celebrant.

Lector will be Rita Narcisian. Music will be provided by Marianne Frein, organist, and Kristina Schofield, vocalist.

Eugene "Jack" Tennyson, age 84 of Rapid City, SD, died July 22, 2008, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday, July 26, at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with Father Leo Hausmann as celebrant.

Music was provided by Mary Erz, organist. Ushers were Myron Williams and Delmar Paulsen. Pallbearers were Clarence Wagner, Eric Tennyson, Nick Feller, Norman Klingbile, John Overholt and Lyle Williams.

Interment was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Quinn.

Merle Ann Elshere-Haveman, age 66 of Summerset, SD, died July 22, 2008, at her home.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 28, at the United Church in Philip, with Pastor Al Brucklacher officiating.

Music was provided by Judy Elshere, pianist, with congregational hymns. Ushers were Eric Hoag and Derek Lane. Pallbearers were Trent and Tyler Sever, Dustin and Jordan Cazier, Douglas Kennedy, Jr. and Robert Haveman.

Interment was in the Masonic Cemetery, Philip.
