George Gunn, Jr.

George Gunn, Jr. age 81, of Wasta, died Tuesday morning, June 22, 2004, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 25, at the United Methodist Church in Wall, with Pastor Jim Cissell officiating.

Music was provided by Dorothy Shearer, pianist, Dean, Gene, Gale and Dale Patterson, vocalists. Ushers were Larry and Jerry Gravatt, Casey and Todd Trask, Bill Tines, Larry Schell, Orrin Sundquist, and Greg Shearer.

The Philip A-Ball Team beat Presho by one run in the bottom of the seventh to claim 3rd place in the Kris and Evelyn Paulsen Tournament this past weekend in Philip.

The championship game between Kadoka and Murdo proved to be just as close, as Kadoka edged the Coyotes by one run – again at the bottom of the seventh.

“We had some really good games,” Philip’s assistant coach Marty Hansen said.

•Game 3: Philip over Presho

•Game 4: Kadoka over Murdo

Lucille W. Noack

Lucille W. Noack, age 94, of Philip, SD, died Monday, June 28, 2004, at the Philip Nursing Home.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, at the Rush Funeral Home in Philip, and one hour preceding the services at the church on Friday.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 2, at the United Church in Philip, with Pastor Mark Ford officiating.

Interment will be in the Masonic Cemetery, Philip. Rush Funeral Home of Philip is in charge of the arrangements.

Clifford D. Phillips

Clifford D. "Cliff" Phillips, age 81, of Midland, died Sunday, June 27, 2004, at his home in Midland.

Closed casket visitation will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, at the Rush Funeral Home in Philip, and one hour preceding the services at the church on Thursday.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Midland with Pastor Ann Schlossnagle officiating.

Music will be provided by Cynthia Finn, organist, and Barb Bowen, vocalist. Ushers will be Ralph “Shorty” Jones and Kirby Schofield.


Rosalie M. Keelin

Mass of Christian burial for Rosalie M. Keelin, age 88, of Huron, who died Sunday afternoon, June 20, 2004, at the Hursong Nursing Home, was celebrated June 23, at the Church of the Resurrection in Huron with Father Jim Zimmer as celebrant.

Sheila Bonen was organist and soloist. Casketbearers were Todd Nelson, Tony Keelin, David Grabinski, Bob Paulsen, Layton Holstrom, and Edmund Baye, Jr.

Interment was in St. Martin Cemetery in Huron.

Rosalie M. Keelin was born Rosalie M. Baye on November 13, 1915, to Sylvan J. and Helen (Erdman) Baye at Webster, SD.
