Longtime Faith area rancher and beekeeper, Albert Steen Jr., 88, died peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of February 10, 2013 at the Fort Meade VA Hospital near Sturgis, SD.
Service of Remembrance was held Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Fort Meade Chapel at Fort Meade, SD. Rev. Harold Delbridge officiated and inurnment of Albert's and his wife Lila's ashes was held at the Black Hills National Cemetery south of Sturgis, SD.

Mildred Lorraine (Veal) Smith, 87, of Corpus Christi Texas, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013. Mildred was born on December 19, 1925 at home in Chance, South Dakota to the late Boyd and Mabel (Iverson) Veal. She attended grade school in Chance and first year of high school in Faith, South Dakota and finished and graduated from Bison High School in 1943 and went on to Business College in Rapid City, South Dakota. She was employed at the Rapid City Air Base for several years. That is where she met Elwood Smith and they were married January 23, 1946.

Hans E. Hanson, age 91 of Philip, S.D., died Friday, February 15, 2013, at the Philip Nursing Home.
Hans E. Hanson was born November 17, 1921, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Martin and Lizzie Hanson. He grew up on a farm near Mt. Vernon and attended rural schools, prior to graduating from Mt. Vernon High School in 1939.

Dennis Lund, age 62 of Wall, S.D., died February 11, 2013, at his home.
Dennis P. Lund was born May 22, 1950, the son of Pete and Ruth (Lehr) Lund. He grew up and received his education in Alpena, graduating from Alpena High School in 1968.
Dennis was united in marriage to Theresa Wuestewald on April 23, 1976, in Huron. They later settled in Madison. In 1985, they adopted three daughters, Candy, Justina, and Glenda.
Dennis was an animal lover and a car enthusiast.
